Why We Created Moondance

Nearly fifteen years ago, I moved to the Nilgiris in search of a quieter, more intentional way of living.
Having travelled extensively, nowhere else made me want to put down roots quite like this place.
Over more than two decades as a mental fitness coach, and now as a Humanist exploring what it means
to remain deeply human in an increasingly technology-driven world, I've become convinced that nature,
space and meaningful community are essentials. Moondance grew from that belief.

A few close friends and I set out to create the kind of place we wanted for ourselves:
a peaceful cocoon where we could grow older together, surrounded by beauty, birdsong, sunsets
and people who share our values.

In a world where even the hills are changing rapidly, we sought to protect a corner
that still feels spacious, unhurried, and deeply connected to nature. Close to modern conveniences
yet removed from the relentless pace of development.

For me, Moondance is more than a community. It is my home and my sanctuary.
It isn't for everyone. It's for those who understand that true luxury lies in space, stillness,
nature and the company of kindred spirits.
